1. Internal structure in poem is placing words in appropriate places. The poet arranges them to get the most feeling and visual effects across as possible. An example would be how the poet is shifting the poems subject matter. He could begin with narration, then reflection or description. it is all on purpose for the readers to understand his angle.
ReplyDelete2. Stanzas are groups of lines divided from other groups by the space on the page. Putting space in between the lines signifies changing of thought, scene, images or shifts in structure. A traditional form of a stanza would be rhyming poetry since the words that rhyme are in a separate line to be a visual indicator in change of patterns in sounds.
-Natalie Diciaula
1. Internal structure in a poem is placing words in a poem where they are best suited. Usually poets do this to get the best rhythm or it is the best way to make the poem flow right. Edgar Allen Poe was the king of internal structure. An example from his work would be “Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary”.
ReplyDelete2. Stanzas are a series of lines grouped together and usually separated by an empty line from other stanzas. A stanza uses the same purpose as paragraphs do in essays. A traditional form of a stanza would be onegin stanzas where the lowercase letters represent feminine endings and the uppercase letters represent masculine endings.
-Stephen Stroop
1. Internal structure in a poem is the appropriate placement of words where they are best fitted. Poets do this to follow a certain rhythm pattern or structure, but they also use word placement as a way to tell the story even better. An example of this would be Macbeth by William Shakespeare.
ReplyDelete2. Stanzas are groups of lines that are separated from one another. Stanza help with the flow of the poem, structure, and meter. A traditional form of a stanza would be a Ballad Stanza, otherwise known as a quatrain, which is a four line stanza found often in folk ballads.
The structure of a poem is very important to a reader. At least it is to me. Placing certain words together or apart can help the poem flow better and makes it easier to enjoy or remember if necessary. The easier the poem is to read, the better the reader is able to understand it. The structure can also help a reader visualize it in their mind. An example would be "I peek in the other room, I head quiet clicks, cups of black coffee, click, click, like facts." because I can visualize the scenario the character is in.
ReplyDeleteStanzas are important because they are the paragraphs of poems. They separate new ideas from each other and it can give the author a chance to introduce a new rhyme scheme. An example would be having different stanzas with different rhyme schemes such as one with ABAB and another with CDCD.

ReplyDelete1. Internal structure is how the poem is made up. The internal structure is where words are situated, such as rhyme and diction. An example of rhyme (and hereby internal structure) is this: “in a different language, yet one I’ve picked up, through cultural exchanges…”. Rhyme was achieved by choosing the word “language” and “exchanges” in Adrienne Rich’s poem, “Two Songs.”
ReplyDelete2. External structures are the arrangement of the words. This could be the poem’s shape as a whole, or the stanza’s varying sizes. Stanzas can have different rhyme schemes such as some being “abab” and others being “cdcd”, or they can be a crazy shape to describe a poem. The poem about women climbing up a ladder to attain respect, while the poem itself is shaped as a ladder is a wonderful example.

1. The internal structure of a poem is the placement of words. How to arrange the words for the best result is taken into consideration. Figures of speech are not only one part of the poem but have an affect on the poem as a whole.
ReplyDelete2. Stanzas are the arrangement of a certain number of lines with fixed length, meter, or rhyme scheme, forming a section of a poem. Stanzas can separate Ideas within a poem.
Joseph Ledo-Massey
Internal structure is how words are arranged. It could be to do with rhyme layout, or diction.
ReplyDeleteStanza a group of lines forming the basic recurring metrical unit in a poem; a verse

1. Internal structure is how words are placed into a poem to make it effective. It is how the poem is made up and the basic structure that forms the overall poem. The structure is very important to the poem because it makes it easier for the reader to comprehend and picture what is taking place. An example of that would be "the stalks very prickly, a penalty they earn for knowing the black art..."
ReplyDelete2. Stanzas separate the poem into parts in order to make them easily understood. The stanzas can create a picture by using the words that adds a new aspect to the overall poem. A very good example of this be "Easter Wings" by George Herbert.
1. Internal structure is important on to help the reader make sense of what the poet is trying say. Most poems are divided into parts to transition and shift into different subject matter.
ReplyDelete2. Stanzas are a series of lines separated by a blank space dividing the group of lines. This space creates an appearance for turns of thought, changes of scene or image, or other shifts in structure or direction.
1. Internal structure is how words are placed into a poem that best fits. An example of internal structure is " I love to go out in late September among the fat, overripe, icy, blackberries to eat blackberries for breakfast."
ReplyDelete2. External structure is the arrangement of the words. This could be the poem's overall shape or size of the stanzas. George Herbert's poem "Easter Wings" is wrote sideways with the stanzas getting shorter and then starting over to the beginning size.
-William Canaday
1. The internal structure of a poem is how it is organized. It is the words and how they interact, such as rhyming. The structure is vital to how the poem flows, as a poorly constructed internal structure will not sound good when read.
ReplyDelete2.Stanzas are similar to the paragraphs of poetry. They are groups of lines placed together with breaks in between. They allow the author to move to a different idea or structure if they wish. Examples of traditional stanzas would be ones with specific numbers of lines. Another example would be stanzas with certain rhyme schemes.
Allison McDowell
Internal structure is how a poem is formed through the use of choice words and rhyming meters. Internal structure is also how the poem is spoken and written. Internal structure also includes internal struggles where the speaker can go from happy to sad throughout the poem. There are several forms of internal structure including dream-to-walking, and ironic structure. There are several more forms but all can usually be picked out of a poem using a correct method of studying meters in the poem called prosy. An example of internal structure in the poem called "To a Daughter Leaving Home" as she alludes to the growing up of her daughter.
ReplyDeleteThe purpose of stanzas in poems is to properly make great use of not only the structure of the poem but the inter structure as well. Stanzas follow direct patterns and structures of writing. Examples of this type of poetry are sonnets and haiku. Both of which involve only a certain way to write.
1. Internal Structure refers to the placement of words where they are best fit in a poem.
ReplyDelete2. Stanzas are used to separate the thoughts, topics, and ideas in a poem. They also seem to keep a rhythm to the poem.
